We just had a wonderfully fun Thanksgiving week down here in Guyana. Patrick's parents (Baba and Zedal to Kata and Norah) and Aunt Bridget and Uncle Louis braved the long flight and spent a fabulous week with us here in our new home.
We made a pretty good approximation of our traditional Thanksgiving meal. Here are Kata and Zedal at the Thanksgiving table.

We also invited a few of Patrick's colleagues to join us for the meal.

The Henrys lavished Norah and Kata with gifts. Uncle Louis brought Norah a (ahem,Florida) gator.

To be fair, he brought a (Crimson Tide) elephant for Kata. Just look at the love she already has for Al.

We also took a really fantastic day trip into the rainforest with Norah, Baba and Zedal. Here is Norah at our first stop in an Amerindian village. While getting the tour of the village school, Norah shows off her mad skills, writing letters in the sand.

Finding tiny orchids for Baba.

Eating peanut butter crackers on a speed boat in the jungle. Ever done that? Norah has.

After an hour on the boat, we arrive at Arrowpoint lodge. This is the most welcome cup of coffee I have ever had.

Norah vs. butterfly the size of her face

If you were 2 years old and your grandmother had just brought you a suitcase full of new clothes, this might be what you would insist on wearing into the jungle. It's only natural.

Kata and Norah enjoyed lots of attention from their visiting family. Norah just told me again yesterday how sad she is that Baba and Zedal, Bridget and Louis aren't here anymore...Here are some of the favorite activities:
Horse rides

iPad games

Singing in the rain

Doing their nails
